Done with the main sewing for my faun costume! I’m going to go through it again tonight with stronger stitches. All that’s left to do for the legs part is foam the shoes for an ankle-effect, add hooves, and fur the shoes. I’m really pleased with how it looks! It’s been fun and simple to do, albeit time-consuming.

So the biggest challenge of becoming a Hobbit in my opinion, is the feet. You bought your ears, you’ve made your outfit, and you (or an awesome friend) have put together a wig, but the one thing no Hobbit is complete without is huge -and hairy - feet.
For this I look to my friend Drill who is a master of makeup. In one night we turned slippers into Hobbit feet using basic makeup. I can now walk around at Dragon*Con proudly. After I finish the sleeves on my coat that is.
